BWF-Badminton World Federation informed that the Asian leg of the 2020 Badminton World Tour which was scheduled for November 2020 has been postponed till 2021.

The three postponed events will now be held in Bangkok during January.

This is continuation of Badminton cancellations, last week the 2020 Thomas and Uber Cup competition to be held in Denmark was postponed for the third time till 2021.

The only surviving top tournament from the 2020 calendar is the Denmark Open.

The reason as per BWF officials is due to coronavirus pandemic, as the governments and authorities around the globe continue to restrict travel, movement and public gatherings.

According to the official BWF statement, it was not viable to hold the events in November and new January dates for two of the Super 1000 tournaments are – 12th and 19th January, with the finals to be held on the 27th and till 31st January.
