The head coach Alvin Gentry of New Orleans Pelicans has been relieved of his position after Pelicans did not qualify the 2020 NBA playoffs.

This is the second coach being ousted in last two days. The first one was the head coach Jim Boylenthe of Chicago Bulls.

The franchise owner Gayle Benson, thanked Alvin and conveyed that a change is important as the team need to be entering the championships.

Alvin hired in 2015 has been involved in five Basketball seasons. His team was able to enter the playoffs during 2018.
