Cricket- Pak Vs SA U19 Tour – ODI 2: Pakistan Beats South Africa; Leads 2-0 In Series

Pakistan Under 19 Cricket team is enjoying a successful tour of South Africa, as they won two consecutive One Day International matches in a seven match Series.

In 2nd Youth One Day International, Pakistan stunned host South Africa after an early collapse to chase down the target with 4 wickets in hand and 43 balls remaining.

Pakistan U19 won the toss and opted to field first at Pietermaritzburg. South African opener A. Louw laid foundation for his side by scoring 91 runs. South African side was bowled out for 215 in 44 overs, leaving Pakistan a target of 216 in rain affected 47 over game. 

Pakistani bowlers Naseem Shah, Akhtar Shah grabbed 3 wickets each, while Aamir Ali took 2 wickets.

In reply Pakistan faced an early collapsed as they lost 4 wickets for 81 runs. Captain Rohail Nazir rescued Pakistani side in difficult situation by scoring 67 runs, but it was Man of the match, Haris Khan who secured Pakistan’s second victory in a row by scoring brisk 60 in 53 balls with 9 fours and remain Not out. 

A Cloete B Parsons were pick of the bowlers for South Africa as both claimed 2 wickets each.

Earlier on 22nd June, in the 1stYouth One Day International, Pakistan U19 elected to bat after winning the toss at Durban. A hundred run opening partnership ensured Pakistan’s total of 226 for 9 in 50 overs. Opener Haider Ali was the top scorer with 60, while Abbas Afridi remain not out on 53. South African T. Van Vuuren and B. Parsons claimed two wickets each.

South Africa U19 top order responded strongly, scored 150 for the lost of 3 wickets. Later a collapse from SA resulted in opening victory for Pakistan U19, as South Africa finished their innings at 209 for 9 in 50 overs.

Pakistani Youth Naseem Shah and Abbas Afridi were rewarded with 2 wickets each. Abbas Afridi claimed Player of the Match with all round performance. 

Pakistan Under 19 touring South Africa is scheduled to play 7 match series. 
Next Youth ODI between two sides will be played on 27th June at Pietermaritzburg. Both sides will meet on 30th June, 2nd July, 5th July and 7th July to play 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th fixture.
