West Indies defeated South Africa in the third T20I by 7 runs at Johannesburg to clinch the series 2 – 1. Alzarri Joseph was declared Man of the Match for taking 5 wickets for 40 runs whereas Johnson Charles, also of West Indies was nominated Players of the Series for his 146 runs through the series, including a whirlwind century, fastest for West Indies in T20Is.

West Indies scored 220 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and then restricted South Africa to 213 runs for 6 wickets in their turn. No West Indian batter played a long inning as Romario Shepherd was top scorer with 44 in 22 deliveries late in the innings. Nicholas Pooran with 41 in 19 deliveries and Brendon King 36 in 25 balls made useful contributions. For South Africa, Ngidi, Rabada and Nortje picked up 2 wickets each. South Africa started the chase brilliantly with Reeza Hendricks top scoring with 83 in 44 balls but they lost wickets regularly and West Indies held their nerve to scrape home by 7 runs. Alzarri Joseph collected 5 wickets in 4 overs, conceding 40 runs.
