Pakistan convincingly defeated Japan 5-3 to clinch the bronze medal of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2022 in Ipoh, Malaysia. It must be noted that Pakistan is participating without the main players.

The final is to be played during Malaysia and Korea on Thursday, 10th November.

Japan’s Kentaro Fukuda opened the scoreboard in the ninth minute, but the advantage was equalized quickly by Hanan Shahid of Pakistan in the 10th minute.

Subsequently, in the next quarter, Pakistan netted two goals, one each by Arbaz and Rooman.

Japan comeback in the third quarter, when Yuma Nagai scored in the 30th minute and reduced Pakistan’s lead to one goal. However, Pakistan’s form struck back and Rooman in 34th minute, once again gave Pakistan a two-goal advantage.

In the final fourth quarter, the sequel continued with Japan’s Yuma Nagai netting the Pakistan goal in the 49th minute but three minutes later, Abdul Rana added another goal for Pakistan.
