Martial Arts

In the mid year of 2009, a battle between UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and the generally perceived #1 Heavyweight on the planet – Fedor Emelianenko – was the battle that MMA fans needed to see more than some other.

In addition to the fact that it would set the incomparable Fedor against a man far bigger and more dominant than he was, yet it would have been an opportunity for Lesnar to truly demonstrate that he was the best huge man in the game beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Tragically, the UFC just couldn’t complete an arrangement Fedor thus the battle remained close to a pipe dream. In spite of Lesnar taking a lot of shots at Fedor – most strikingly saying he never again thought about battling the Russian when it was reported that ‘The Last Emperor’ had marked with StrikeForce as opposed to the UFC – you could tell that passing up a battle with him was unquestionably a lament.

How might the battle have gone? Making a decision on Lesnar’s inevitable defeat – in light of a blend of his issues with diverticulitis and a battle to shield against standing strikes – we would most likely have put my cash on Fedor to traverse with a major bomb.
