Highlights
Peshawar Zalmi Innings

Karachi Kings Captain, DHG Sammy, opted to field first, on winning the toss against Peshawar Zalmi.

The openers Kamran Akmal and Imam-ul-Haq initiated the match with an unconventional sort of opening of the ninth match of PSL-4. The former was dismissed for a duck while the latter managed to strike 56 off 43 deliveries.

After 9 overs, the score-board showed 53-4. This was due to the good bowling and fielding in the start from King’s side, not allowing Zalmis to build a run-scoring momentum.

The individual score could not cross 56 after departure of Imam. The off-the-wall dismissal of Madsen, Pollard, Riaz and Asif for a duck collapsed the middle and lower end orders of the innings. Dawson and Sammy, however, managed to pile up a good score by hitting boundaries.

The bowlers from the Gladiators especially Shinwari and Sikandar Raza with their good bowling strategy conceived minimal runs.

The innings terminated at a target of 153 Runs from 20 overs.

Karachi Kings Innings

With a reasonable target to be chased, from Karachi Kings, LivingStone and Babar Azam set feet in to bat. From Peshawar Zalmi, Hasan Ali and Umaid Asif shared the ball.

King’s hopes started sinking down the drain since the start. When the magic of Hasan Ali’s bowling strategy enveloped the wickets of the Karachi King’s openers, Livingstone and Babar, the yellow storm proved to be forming a sound base for a happening match.

The bowlers of Peshawar Zalmi had rather a robust bowling strategy as they amazingly minimized the score from the opposite site, keeping the Kings from building up their score-piles.

The batting performance from the Kings was a fragile one and the score details mark the collapse of upper and lower end order which is obviously a result of tight grip by the Zalmis.

Kings slided on a low wave and were unable to make it to the winning position,as the target of 153 Runs could not be chased. Rizwan and Ingram were the only individual players to score comparatively higher but their effort could not become a game-changer.

The match 9 of PSL-4 was won by Peshawar Zalmi by 44 Runs.
