Highlights:

·         Real Betis won a tight match against Girona. Whether it’s possession or the number of goals on target Betis players were better than Girona today.

·         Overall it was a quite interesting match as Girona looked threatening at several points in the match. However, Betis’s defense proved too much for Girona as they couldn’t score a single goal in the match.

·         On the other hand, Real Betis player Loren Moron netted a goal at the 36^th minute – a goal that proved to be the match decider.

·         After this win Real Betis are retain their number 5 position in the La Liga table.

Match 2 of 10: Sevilla Vs Villarreal

Result: 2 – 2

·      Villarreal: Dani Raba 36’, Carlos Bacca 68’, Jaume Costa 76’

Highlights:

·         An interesting match between two strong teams; Sevilla and Villarreal. Both teams looked in fine form throughout the match.

·         The scoring was opened by Villarreal’s Dani Raba who scored in the 36^th minute to give his team a 1 – 0 lead.

·         Sevilla couldn’t manage to score in the 1^st half however Sevilla’s player Wissam opened the strike for Sevilla in the 62^nd minute.

·         Then came counter goals from both sides as 4 more goals were scored inside 20 minutes. The scores were now level.

·         Sevilla had the highest possession of the ball in the match. However, they could not score a tie-breaker and the match ended in a draw.

Match 3 of 10: Barcelona Vs Valencia

Result: 2 – 1

Barcelona: Luis Suarez 15’, Samuel Umtiti 51’

Valencia: Daniel Parejo 87’

Highlights:

·         After Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League by A.S Roma the La Liga toppers were looking for a solace win.

·         Barcelona, who hadn’t lost a single match in La Liga continued their win streak as they beat Valencia by 2 -1.

·         From possession to accurate goal shots, Barcelona dominated in all of them. Valencia was also very impressive but not as phenomenal as Barcelona.

·         Luis Suarez had given Barcelona and early lead in the match when he scored at the 15^th minute. The lead was increased by Umtiti who scored in the 2^nd half.

·         Valencia scored but it was too late as the match finished in a few minutes and Barcelona won it to keep its winning streak going in La Liga.

Match 4 of 10: Leganes Vs Celta Vigo

Result:  1 – 0

Leganes: Miguel Angel Guerroro 63’

Highlights:

·         It was a match between two teams who wanted to break into the top 10 of the La Liga table.

·         Both teams were at the same spot before this match but after Leganes won the match it now stood at number 9 in the La Liga table.

·         All of this was due to the brilliance of one man. Miguel who struck a goal at eh 63^rd minute helped his team to move into the top 10 in the league.

·         Although, Celta Vigo dominated the possession by over 20% more than Leganes.

·         However, Leganes had more accurate shots at the goal and finally Miguel netted one straight into the goal post.

Match 5 of 10: Las Palmas Vs Real Sociedad

Result: 1 – 0

Real Sociedad: Mikel Oyarzabal 21’

Highlights:

·         Real Sociedad were the clear favorites to win this match against a weaker Las Palmas. However, the 19^th ranked team gave a tough time to Real in the match.

·         The match was lost by Las Palmas in the 1^st half and this was only because of their own sloppiness.

·         As the main reason as to why Las Palmas lost this match was that from a total of 7 shots at the goal not one was on target.

·         However, this was not the cast for Real Sociedad’s player Mikel who took advantage of this and scored in the 21^st minute. After the 1^st half the scores were 0 – 1.

·         No team could manage to score a goal in the other half. This lead to Real Sociedad winning the match and moving to number 10 in the La Liga table rankings.

Match 6 of 10: Athletico Bilbao Vs Deportivo

Athletico Bilbao: Raul Garcia 47’, Markel Susaeta 72’

Highlights:

·         The team that was going to get the most out of this match was Athletico Bilbao as they had currently 39 points in La Liga.

·         If they won this match they would jump 4 places up to number 10 in the league.

·         So, the match started and much to Athletico’s disappointment Deportivo’s striker Adrian Lopez struck two goals between 8 minutes in the 1^st half.

·         After the 1^st half Deportivo were leading by 2 – 0. In the 2^nd half Athletico tried to make a comeback, however Deportivo struck another goal to further extend their lead.

·         Athletico Bilbao tried to comeback into this game when they scored another goal at the 72^nd minute.

·         They needed one more but the match finished and Deportivo claimed a deserving win.
