Double’s: Katerina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova vs Lucie Hradecka and Hsieh Su-wei

Result: Katerina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova defeated Lucie Hradecka and Hsieh Su-wei by 6-4, 6-3.

Highlights:

  • Although, Katerina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova took a perfect start as they took the lead of the first set but they failed to extend it large enough for the opponent pair.
  • But in the end, Katerina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova grabbed the victory from them in the opening set of the match as Lucie Hradecka and Hsieh Su-wei lost some points on their serve.

  • In the second set, Katerina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova again opened the scoring of this set and were playing confidently.
  • However, in the end, Lucie Hradecka and Hsieh Su-wei again faced defeat as they both were only able to score a total of three points throughout the set.

  • Katerina Siniakova and Barbora Krejcikova made it to the Quarter finals of Wimbledon 2018 where they will now play against Heather Watson and Tatjana Maria.

 

Double’s: Abigail Spears and Alicja Rosolska vs Kiki Bertens and Johanna Larsson

Result: Abigail Spears and Alicja Rosolska defeated Kiki Bertens and Johanna Larsson by 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-3.

Highlights:

  • Abigail Spears and Alicja Rosolska took a perfect start in the opening set of the match by taking the lead.
  • However, they manage to won the set in the end as Kiki Bertens and Johanna Larsson were only able to score a total of two points throughout the set.

  • In the next set, a sensational fight was witnessed between the two pairs as the set eventually came to a tie-breaker after the scores were levelled at both sides 6-6.
  • But again, Abigail Spears and Alicja Rosolska won the set as Kiki Bertens and Johanna Larsson dropped some points on their serve in the end.

  • In the third set, again a resilient fight was witnessed between the two pairs but again, it was Abigail Spears and Alicja Rosolska who sealed their win by a total of two points in the end.
  • Abigail Spears and Alicja Rosolska finally sealed their place into the Quarter finals of Wimbledon 2018 will now play against Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic.

 

Double’s: Irina-Camelia Begu and Mihaela Buzarnescu vs Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez and Andreja Klepac

Result: Irina-Camelia Begu and Mihaela Buzarnescu defeated Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez and Andreja Klepac by 7-6(5), 6-4.

Highlights:

  • An absolute and sensational performance was witnessed between Irina-Camelia Begu and Mihaela Buzarnescu and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez and Andreja Klepac throughout the match.
  • In the opening set of the match, a brilliant performance was seen between the two pairs as the set eventually came to a tie-breaker after the scores were levelled at both sides 6-6.

  • But in the end, it was Irina-Camelia Begu and Mihaela Buzarnescu who claimed victory in the first set on the tie-break as Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez and Andreja Klepac failed to score the last points first.
  • In the second set, Irina-Camelia Begu and Mihaela Buzarnescu again faced a tough fight but eventually won the set in the end as they scored the last two points in quick succession in the end.

  • Irina-Camelia Begu and Mihaela Buzarnescu finally made it to the Quarter finals where they will play against Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke in the Wimbledon 2018.

 

Suspended Match:

The match was to be played between Heather Watson and Tatjana Maria and Christina McHale and Jelena Ostapenko but Heather and Tatjana Maria were given walkover and they qualified for the quarter finals as Christina McHale and Jelena Ostapenko retired before playing against them.
