Double’s: Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan vs Vania King and Katarina Srebotnik

Result: Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan defeated Vania King and Katarina Srebotnik by 6-3, 6-3.

Highlights:

  • Although, Vania King and Katarina Srebotnik took a perfect start as they took the lead of the first set but they failed to extend it large enough for the opponent pair.
  • In the end, Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan snatched the victory from them in the opening set of the match as Vania King and Katarina Srebotnik lost some points on their serve.

  • In the second set, Vania King and Katarina Srebotnik again opened the scoring of this set and were playing confidently.
  • However, in the end, Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan again won the second set as Vania King and Katarina Srebotnik failed to score the last three points first.

  • Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan made it to the Quarter finals of Wimbledon 2018 where they will now play against Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands.

 

Double’s: Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands vs Barbora Strycova and Andrea Sestini Hlavckova

Result: Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands defeated Barbora Strycova and Andrea Sestini Hlavckova by 2-6, 7-6(7), 6-4.

Highlights:

  • Barbora Strycova and Andrea Sestini Hlavckova took a perfect start in the opening set of the match by taking the lead.

  • However, they faced a terrific defeat in the end as Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands did not let them score more than a total of two points throughout the set.
  • In the next set, a sensational fight was witnessed between the two pairs as the set eventually came to a tie-breaker after the scores were levelled at both sides 6-6.

  • But again, Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands won the set as Barbora Strycova and Andrea Sestini Hlavckova dropped some points on their serve in the end.

  • In the third set, again a resilient fight was witnessed between the two pairs but again, it was Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands who sealed their win by a total of two points in the end.
  • Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands finally booked their place into the Quarter finals of Wimbledon 2018 will now play against Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan.

 

Double’s: Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke vs Elise Mertens and Demi Schuurs

Result: Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke defeated Elise Mertens and Demi Schuurs by 7-6(4), 6-3.

Highlights:

  • Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke gave an absolute and stunning performance against Elise Mertens and Demi Schuurs throughout the match.

  • In the opening set of the match, a brilliant performance was seen between the two pairs as the set eventually came to a tie-breaker.
  • But in the end, it was Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke who claimed victory in the first set on the tie-break as Elise Mertens and Demi Schuurs failed to score the last points first.

  • In the second set, Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke easily dominated Elise Mertens and Demi Schuurs as they both were only able to score a total of three points throughout the set.
  • Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke finally made it to the Quarter finals where they will play against Kirsten Flipkens and Monica Niculescu in the Wimbledon 2018.

 

Double’s: Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic vs Kirsten Flipkens and Monica Niculescu

Result: Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic defeated Kirsten Flipkens and Monica Niculescu by 6-3, 6-4.

Highlights:

  • Kirsten Flipkens and Monica Niculescu faced a terrible defeat in the opening set of the match as they were only able to score a total of three points in the first set.

  • However, Kirsten Flipkens and Monica Niculescu put up a great fight in the next set as the score became equalized at 4-4.
  • But in the end, Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic again successfully manage to seal their win in this set as they scored the last two points in quick succession.

  • Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic sealed their place into the Quarter finals where now they will now play against Abigail Spears and Alicja Rosolska in the Wimbledon 2018.
