Match: Demi Schuurs and Elise Mertens vs Sara Sorribes Tormo and Sorana Cirstea

Summary: A tough battle was witnessed between Demi Schuurs and Elise Mertens and Sara Sorribes Tormo and Sorana Cirstea as they all were scoring points one after the other. However, Demi Schuurs and Elise Mertens successfully managed to win the first set as they score the last two points in a quick succession.

In the second set, Sara Sorribes Tormo and Sorana Cirstea again fought well and scored points quickly but, bad luck continued for them as they both again lost the set in the end by two points.

Result: Demi Schuurs and Elise Mertens defeated Sara Sorribes Tormo and Sorana Cirstea at Wimbledon 2018 by 7-5, 6-4. Demi Schuurs and Elise Mertens will now face Vera Zvonareva and Ekaterina Makarova in the round of 32 at Wimbledon 2018.

 

Match: Heather Watson and Tatjana Maria vs Zhang Shuai and Liang Chen

Summary: Heather Watson and Tatjana Maria gave a humiliating and terrible defeat to Zhang Shuai and Liang Chen in the opening set of the match as Zhang and Liang both failed to score more than a total of two points throughout the set.

However, in the next set Heather Watson and Tatjana Maria were again scoring at a very fast pace and after some time, they again gave a terrific defeat to Zhang Shuai and Liang Chen by 6-2 in the end and finally booked their place into the round of 32.

Match: Vera Zvonareva and Ekaterina Makarova vs Marketa Vondrousova and Anna Blinkova

Summary: Vera Zvonareva and Ekaterina Makarova took a great start as they were constantly scoring points in the first set. While, on the other hand, Marketa Vondrousova and Anna Blinkova were scoring at a very slow pace. In the end, Vera Zvonareva and Ekaterina Makarova easily won the first set by a margin of three points and the match moved on to the second set.

Although, Marketa Vondrousova and Anna Blinkova struggled hard in the second set but eventually they failed to win it in the end as Vera Zvonareva and Ekaterina Makarova scored the last two points in a quick succession.

Result: Vera Zvonareva and Ekaterina Makarova defeated Marketa Vondrousova and Anna Blinkova by 6-3, 6-4. Vera Zvonareva and Ekaterina Makarova will now face Demi Schuurs and Elise Mertens in the round of 32 at Wimbledon 2018.

 

Match: Anna-Lena Gronefeld and Raquel Atawo vs Xenia Knoll and Anna Smith

Summary: Anna-Lena Gronefeld and Raquel Atawo and Xenia Knoll and Anna Smith both pairs gave a tough fight to each other in the first set. But in the end, Xenia Knoll and Anna Smith finally won it as they scored the last two points in a quick succession.

However, Anna-Lena Gronefeld and Raquel Atawo again gave a resilient fight to Xenia Knoll and Anna Smith in the second setand this time they won the set. The match came to the decisive set. Anna-Lena Gronefeld and Raquel Atawo again claimed their victory in this set as Xenia Knoll and Anna Smith lost some points on their serve.

Match: Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands vs Alla Kudryavtseva and Lyudmyla Kichenok

Summary: In the first set a tough battle was witnessed as the set eventually came to a tie-breaker after the score was levelled at 6-6. However, in the end, Alla Kudryavtseva and Lyudmyla Kichenok failed to win as they lost the last point first.

Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Alla Kudryavtseva and Lyudmyla Kichenok both pairs gave their best performance again in the second set. But in the end, Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands finally won it as they scored the last two points in a quick succession and made it to the next round.

Result: Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands defeated Alla Kudryavtseva and Lyudmyla Kichenok at Wimbledon 2018 by 7-6(6), 7-5. Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands will now play against Kaia Kanepi and Andrea Petkovic in the round of 32 at Wimbledon 2018.

 

Match: Mihaela Buzarnescu and Irina-Camelia Begu vs Daria Gavrilova and Vera Lapko

Summary: Mihaela Buzarnescu and Irina-Camelia Begu and Daria Gavrilova and Vera Lapko both the pairs gave a good performance throughout the match. Mihaela Buzarnescu and Irina-Camelia Begu easily won the first set as Daria Gavrilova and Vera Lapko dropped a number of points on their serve.  

However, in the next set a tough fight was witnessed as the set eventually came to a tie-breaker after the score was equalized 6-6. In the end, Daria Gavrilova and Vera Lapko again failed to win as they lost some easy points on the tie-break and finally failed to make it to the next round.

Result: Mihaela Buzarnescu and Irina-Camelia Begu defeated Daria Gavrilova and Vera Lapko at Wimbledon 2018 by 6-3, 7-6(3). Mihaela Buzarnescu and Irina-Camelia Begu will now play against Kaitlyn Christian and Ana Bogdan in the round of 32 of Wimbledon 2018.

 

Match: Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke vs Anett Kontaveit and Monica Puig

Summary: Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke took a great start as they were constantly scoring points in the first set. While, on the other hand, Anett Kontaveit and Monica Puig were also scoring points but at a very slow pace. In the end, Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke easily won the first set as they scored the last two points in a quick succession.

Anett Kontaveit and Monica Puig struggled hard in the second set as Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke gave both of them a humiliating defeat by winning the set from a total of four points in the end.

Result: Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke defeated Anett Kontaveit and Monica Puig at Wimbledon 2018 by 6-4, 6-2.
