Result: Dominika Cibulkova defeated Elise Mertens by 6-2, 6-2.

  • An exquisite performance was seen by the Slovak player, Dominika Cibulkova as she defeated Elise Mertens in a rhythm.

  • Elise Mertens was scoring points confidently in the first set but she eventually failed to win it in the end as she dropped a lot of points on her serve in the end.

Result: Aliaksandra Sasnovich defeated Daria Gavrilova by 6-3, 6-1.

  • The Australian player, Daria Gavrilova put up some fight in the first set but she eventually lost it in the end as she was only able to recover a total of three points.

  • However, Aliaksandra Sasnovich gave a humiliating defeat to Daria Gavrilova as Aliaksandra Sasnovich did not let her score more than a single point throughout the match.
  • Daria Gavrilova made a total of ten double faults which was one reason for her defeat against Aliaksandra Sasnovich in both sets.

  • Aliaksandra Sasnovich gave a shocking defeat to the World No.1 and finally sealed her place into the round of 16 where she will play against Jelena Ostapenko in Wimbledon 2018.

 

Single’s: Belinda Bencic vs Carla Suarez Navarro

Result: Belinda Bencic defeated Carla Suarez Navarro by 6-1, 7-6(3).

Result: Angelique Kerber defeated Naomi Osaka by 6-2, 6-4.

Highlights:

  • An exceptional performance was witnessed by the German player, Angelique Kerber against Naomi Osaka.

  • Angelique Kerber easily dominated Naomi Osaka in the first set as she was only able to score a total of two points throughout the match.
  • However, a good effort was shown by the Japanese player, Naomi Osaka in the next set but again she failed to win the set in the end as Angelique Kerber scored the last two points first.

  • Angelique Kerber finally booked her place to the round of 16 where she will now play against the Swiss star player, Belinda Bencic in the Wimbledon 2018.
