Football is rightly considered the most popular sport on Earth. Literally, millions of professionals, workers and executives are associated with it. The fan following across the Globe reaches to hundreds of millions. The best and richest league systems exist in Europe. Dozens of countries have varying types of professional football leagues. Best teams of the leagues play at continent level besides playing national leagues. UEFA (Union of European Football Association) controls and regulates the European competitions. It is thus a very complicated and tedious affair to work out schedules as the national and European leagues progress further into the season.

Update MatchDay 3&4; 28th August
Presently, out of five major leagues in Europe, France and Germany have 18 teams each in their top leagues whereas England, Italy and Spain have 20-teams format in their top-tier leagues. This is the reason that France
and Germany complete their MatchDay schedule within two days whereas other three major leagues take 3 to 4 days to complete the scheduled MatchDay. So let’s have a look at what’s happening in the leagues.
