CAPE TOWN: England bowlers delivered exactly as per expectations and bowled out South Africa for 248 to claim the second test between by 89 runs at Newlands and level the three-match series 1-1.

South Africa began the day five play needed 312 runs with eight wickets in hand, an already difficult task that very soon turned into a battle for survival as England bowlers rampaged through.

Jimmy Anderson was the first to draw proteas blood dismissing the night watchman Keshav Maharaj (2) as the day began.

Pieter Malan and Faf du Plessis from the middle order did put up some resistance or rather tried to before being sent to pavilion on 19 and 17 respectively.

There were no chances of a recovery for the hosts and Ben Stokes finished the job with his superb bowling spell routing the tail end all by himself.

Both sides will now face off for the third test at Port Elizabeth scheduled from January 16 with the whole series up for the grabs.
