The British player Ronnie O’Sullivan has won the Snooker World Championship 2020. He defeated country fellow Kyren Wilson by 18-8 at Crucible in Sheffield.

This was the first time O’Sullivan reached final of the championship since 2014. With this victory O’Sullivan has set the new record of winning 37 ranking titles at the age of 44 years. Now, O’Sullivan is 6 times title holder of the Snooker World Championship. Only one player Stephen Hendry is leading him by winning the championship 7 times.

1- O’Sullivan faced easy competition in the final match against Wilson and won the last 8 frames in a row. Although the world number 8 Wilson knocked out the world champion Judd Trump in the quarter finals but he was unable to give tough situation to O’Sullivan.

2- During the semi final O’Sullivan barely defeated the 3 times world champion Mark Selby by just 17-16.

3- In the quarter final he beat Mark Williams by 13-10.

4- Earlier, O’Sullivan won match against the China’s number one player Ding Junhui by 13-10 to reach the quarter finals.

5- O’Sullivan also made a world championship record of the fastest win in just 108 minutes by defeating the Thai opponent Thepchaiya Un-Nooh by 10-1 during the 1st round.
