Second successive Asian Tennis title for Bilal Asim

Boy’s U-16 final: Bilal Asim, outclassed Asad Zaman with a score of 6-0, 6-1. Bilal dominated the title clash right from the word go as he never allowed his opponent to play freely and maintained his supremacy till the last point to win the final by 6-0, 6-1, thus claiming the second successive Asian U-16 title.

Bilal Asim completed the brace of Asian U-16 titles, when he, partnering with Ahtesham Humayun (Crescent School), played well against Hamid Israr/Hamza Roman and edged out the spirited pair by 7-5, 7-6 to win the Boy’s U-16 doubles final.

In the position matches, Sheheryar Anees outlasted Amir Mazari 6-4, 6-0, M Salaar outclassed Taimoor Khan 6-1, 6-1, Nabeel Qayum toppled Aized Khalil 6-2, 6-1, Hamid Israr thumped Kashan Tariq 6-2, 6-1.

In Boy’s/Girl’s U-14 title match, Nabeel Qayum of Islamabad thrashed Abdur Rehman 6-0 to win the title in the Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022. Nabeel displayed high quality tennis skill and techniques and did not allow his opponent Abdur Rehman to score a single point. Nabeel also completed the brace of titles when he, partnering with Abdur Rehman (SICAS) hammered the pair of Bismel Zia/Hajra Suhail by 6-1 in the Boy’s/Girl’s U-14 doubles final.

The Boy’s/Girl’s U-12 final, was one sided with Abdur Rehman (AAA Associates) defeating Hajra 6-1. The Boy’s/Girl’s U-10 final, was won by Hajra Suhail (AAA Associates) by beating Mustafa Uzair Rana 6-2. Ayan Shahbaz in the Boy’s/Girl’s U-8 final, grabbed the gold medal, Ehsan Bari silver and Daniyal Afzal bronze medal. The last Boy’s/Girl’s U-6 final, Mamnoon Bari bagged the gold medal, Shahreen Omer silver, Hafsa Sohail bronze medal. 

Tariq Zaman, CEO Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd, as chief guest awarded the prizes and announced to continue to support the development of new Tennis talent.

Day 3 Review

Bilal Asim and Asad Zaman squeezed into the finals of Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd ATF 16&Under Asian Tennis Tour 2022; Leg-2 at Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy, Nishtar Park Sports Complex.

Semi Finals Review

Boys U-16 the first semifinal, Bilal Asim (SICAS) continued his good show in the Leg-2 as well as he earlier won the ATF U-16 Leg-1 title in a great style. Bilal played outstanding tennis against Hamid Israr and comfortably won the crucial encounter by identical scores of 6-2 and 6-2.  

The second semifinal of the Asian tennis event saw Asad Zaman (of Ali Embroidery Mills) overpower Kashan Tariq by 6-0, 6-2. Asad started tremendously in the first set and didn’t allow his opponent to earn a single point to win it 6-0. Kashan did make his presence felt in the second set, but Asad once again played aggressively and took the set 6-2 to set the final clash against Bilal Asim.  

Both Bilal Asim and Asad Zaman are the students of coach and mentor Rashid Malik. Bilal recently won the ATF U-16 leg and now both the students of Malik will be vying for the title in today’s (Thursday) clash. 

In the position matches played here on Wednesday, Ahtesham Humayun did well against Hamza Roman and comfortably won the position match by 6-0, 6-3. Shehryar Anees also claimed the position by toppling Muhammad Salaar 6-0, 6-1. Nabeel Qayum also shone in the event by outpacing Hamza Rehmat 6-2, 6-3.  

Amir Khan Mazari also claimed the position by thumping Taimoor Khan 6-2, 6-1. In the boys’ U-16 doubles semifinals, the promising pair of Bilal Asim and Ahtesham Humayun hammered Amir Mazari and Hamza Rehmat by 6-2, 6-1.  

Meanwhile, in the Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022 boys U-14 semifinals, Nabeel Qayum thumped Bismel Zia 6-1.

In the boys/girls U-12 quarterfinals, Abdur Rehman (SICAS) beat Bismel Zia 6-1, and Muaz Shahbaz beat M Ibrahim Gill 6-0.  

In the other quarterfinals, Aalay Hussain beat Mustafa Uzair Rana 6-4 and Hajra Suhail (SICAS) beat Ayan Shahbaz 6-0. In the boys/girls U-10 quarterfinals, Hajra Suhail beat Taha Asad 6-0, Muaz Shahbaz beat M Ibrahim Gill 6-2, and Mustafa Uzair Rana beat Aliyan Ali 6-0.


Day 2 Review

Talented Asad Zaman stunned Asian No. 1 U-16 player Haider Ali Rizwan in the Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd ATF 16 & Under Asian Tennis Tour 2022; Leg-2 at Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy at Nishtar Park Sports Complex.  

The Results were as follows:

Boy’s U-16 Quarterfinals:

Match 1: Asad Zaman was up against Haider Ali Rizwan, who recently became Asia’s No. 1 U-16 tennis player. Asad started the match well and dominated it right from the word go to put Haider under pressure, thus winning the first set 6-2. Haider utilized his experience and made a good comeback to win the second set 6-4. Asad didn’t lose heart and played tremendous tennis to outpace the Asian champion 6-3 to register an impressive victory. Asad praised his coach Rashid Malik for the very professional training that is making him a true professional and he is committed to working harder to earn more laurels at the national and international levels. 

Other Quarterfinals:

  • – Bilal Asim, another student of Rashid Malik, who won the ATF U-16 Leg-1 singles title, beat Hamza Roman 6-1, 6-0
  • – Hamid Israr played well against Ahtesham Humayun and defeated him by 7-6, 6-1  

Position Matches:

  • – Sheheryar Anees beat Nabeel Qayum 6-1, 6-0
  • – Muhammad Salaar beat Hamza Rehmat 6-1, 6-4.  

Boy’s U-16 Doubles Quarterfinals

  • – Hamid Israr and Hamza Roman beat Sheheryar Anees and Muhammad Salaar 6-3, 6-4
  • – Amir Mazari and Hamza Rehmat beat Nabeel Qayum and Kashan Tariq 2-6, 6-4, 10-3.  

Meanwhile, in the Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022, different age group matches were decided.

In the Boys/Girls U-14 quarterfinals, Nabeel Qayum beat Hajra Suhail 6-1, Bismel Zia beat Naad e Ali 6-1, Amna Qayum beat Aalay Husnain 6-3, Abdur Rehman beat Inam Bari 6-0.  

As to the Boys/Girls U-10 pre-quarterfinals, Hajra Suhail beat Nameer Ahsan 6-0, M Ibrahim Hussain Gill beat Shafay Iqbal 6-0, Mustafa Uzair Rana beat Ayan Shahbaz 6-2 and Zayd Ahmad beat Ahsan Bari 6-3.  


Day & Round 1 Review

ATF 16 & Under Asian Tennis Tour 2022 – Leg-2 Championship participants at the inauguration ceremony at Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy, Nishtar Park, Lahore, Pakistan – Allsportspk

The Ali Embroidery Mills Pvt Ltd ATF 16&Under Asian Tennis Tour 2022 Leg-2 was formally inaugurated at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy, Nishtar Park in Lahore.

On Day 1, the top players succeeded in making it into the next round. In the boys U-16 first round, Bilal Asim beat shehryar Anees 6-1, 6-3, Hussnain Ali Rizwan beat Taimoor Khan 6-1, 6-0, Ahtesham Humayun beat Salaar Khan 6-0, 6-1, Hamid Israr beat Hamza Rehmat 6-0, 6-2, Asad Zaman beat Amir Mazari 7-6, 6-2, Kashan Tariq beat Aized Khalil 6-0, 6-0 and Hamza Roman beat Nabeel Qayum 6-1, 6-0.

Meanwhile, the matches were also decided in the Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022. In the boys/girls U-14 first round, Hajra Suhail beat Hafiz Hussain 6-1, Bismel Zia beat M Ayyan Khan 6-0, Amna Qayum beat M Taha Khan 6-0, Salar Hussain beat M Ibrahim Qadir 6-0 and Abdur Rehman beat Hamza Ahmad 6-2.

In the boys/girls U-12 first round, Abdur Rehman beat M Taha Malik 6-1, Bismel Zia beat Shafay Iqbal 6-0, Mustafa Uzair beat Hafiz Hussain 6-2, Aalay Husnain beat Nameer Ahsan 6-1 and Hajra Suhail beat Aliyan Ali 6-2.
