11th A.S. Ali Pentangular Blind Cricket Trophy 2019: Day 1 match in the beautiful scenic surroundings of Abbottabad, Pakistan – Courtesy: PBCC

ABBOTTABAD: The 11th Edition of A.S.AliPentangular Blind Cricket Trophy 2019 commenced today at Abbottabad and Mansehra.

The results of the 2 matches played were:

1st Match: Islamabad vs Bahawalpur – Abbottabad Cricket Stadium

In the morning, Bahawalpur won the toss and elected to field first. Islamabad could not bat well and were bowled out for 318 runs in the 36th over. Ayub Khan played well and remained unbeaten on 98 runs but he ran short of partners from the other side. Shahzaib Hayder got out after scoring 42 runs. Babar Ali was the leading wicket taker for Bahawalpur he claimed 3 wickets and Mujeeb-ur-Rehman claimed 2 wickets.

The target of 319 runs did not prove difficult difficult due to the strong batting lineup of Bahawalpur. They chased the target quite easily in 29.4 over and for the loss of only 2 wickets. 

Moeen Aslam played beautifully and remained unbeaten on 148* runs. Muhammad Ijaz got out after scoring 85 runs, Shahzaib could not open his account and Muhammad Rashid made 38 not out. Zeeshan Abbasi and Anees Javed claimed a wicket a piece.

Result: Bahawalpur won by 10 wickets

2nd Match: Lahore vs Okara – Hazara University, Mansehra

The match started late and was reduced to 30 overs a side due to heavy rains a day before.

CWC ’19-Points Table: As of 24th June; 31 Of 45 Group Matches

Okara won the toss and put Lahore into bat. Lahore riding on the superb Captain’s innings of Nisar Ali made 303 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in allotted 30 overs. Nisar Ali scored 106 runs and Matiulllah supported him well with 66 runs. Muhammad Kashif and Akram took 2 wickets each.

2nd Innings was in progress at the time of filing this report.
