Pakistan team from the Karachi Boat Club (KBC) won medals at the 64th Grand Moscow Regatta, a prestigious international rowing competition held in Moscow, Russia, from June 5th to 8th, 2025. The KBC rowers secured:
  • Silver Medal: Farid Muhammad Arif and Imran Khan excelled in the Men’s Double Sculls event, securing a silver medal for Pakistan.
  • Bronze Medal: The Mixed Quadruple Scull team, comprising Haris Shakeel, Arwais Babai, Mahnoor Hussain, and Ilsa Asim, claimed a bronze medal, further showcasing the club’s diverse talent.

Karachi Boat Club has a rich history dating back to 1881, making it one of Pakistan’s oldest and most renowned rowing clubs. Located on the scenic shores of Karachi Creek, the club promotes rowing and provides a platform for athletes to grow. With modern facilities like a swimming pool and gym, KBC is a hub for rowing enthusiasts and social gatherings.
The Grand Moscow Regatta
The Grand Moscow Regatta is a prominent international rowing event that brings together top athletes from around the world. Held on the Moscow River, the regatta features various categories, including Olympic events, and attracts clubs and national teams from globally. Grand Moscow Regatta is one of the largest international rowing competitions.
In 2025, more than 1,300 athletes from 11 countries (Russia, the Republic of Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Cuba, Armenia, Serbia and the UAE) took part in the competition. In total, more than 80 sets of medals were contested during the competition, 36 of which were on the final day.
