As the hype for PSL 2020 is building up, Allsportspk recaps and takes its readers through a journey of the 2019 edition.

  • Colin Ingram’s match winning 127* was the highest score in the PSL overdoing Sharjeel Khan’s 117 for Islamabad United against Peshawar Zalmi on 21 Feb 2016.
  • During PSL 2019, Kamran Akmal became the first Pakistani player to play a century of T20 matches hosted in Pakistan.
  • The iconic Islamabad United vs. Lahore Qalandars was memorable with the following statistics:
  • 238 — Highest team total
  • 16 — Most sixes in an inning
  • 427 — Highest match aggregate in HBL PSL history
  • Cameron Delport — Fastest 100 off just 49 balls
  • Asif Ali — Joint fastest 50 off 17 balls
  • Faheem Ashraf — Best bowling in PSL 2019 with 6/19 figures
  • Mohammad Sami became the oldest (37 years and 363 days) to take a hat-trick in T20 Cricket. His hat-trick against Peshawar Zalmi was the only hat-trick of PSL 2019.
  • 2019’s HBL PSL featured 14 instances of the teams scoring past 60 runs in the power play, the most in a single edition of the PSL.
  • Young Umer Khan took 15 wickets in PSL 2019; 10 of being against oversees players. He conceded 6.14 runs per over.
  • Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans now hold the record highest runs scored in powerplay with 78 runs apiece.

  • – Multan Sultans vs. Lahore Qalandars — 78/2
  • In PSL 2019, Johnson Charles scored 73% of his runs though the onside. Amongst the players who scored 100+ in this season, only Liam Livingstone (81.4%) & Umar Siddiq (73.2%) have score most of their runs though the onside.
  • Lahore Qalandars excelled at the death bowling out of all the teams, leaking 8.32 runs per over. Other teams averaged leaking 9.25 runs per over in the last five overs.
  • Quetta Gladiator’s top order had been the best of the lot scoring 61% of the team runs alone. This was even the highest in PSL 2019.
  • Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings both failed to even hit a six in 20 overs PSL 2019 game, which had never happened in PSL history.
  • In PSL 2019, former Pakistan Captain, Misbah ul Haq at 44 years and 281 days became the oldest player in T20 history to score a fifty. He rescued the drowning batting line up of Peshawar Zalmi from 20-5.
  • Kieron Pollard also became the first player in PSL history to get out due to obstructing the field. This incident had never happened in PSL ever.
  • DJ Bravo specially sung a song for Quetta Gladiators in this PSL 2019. Let’s see if he makes one again this year.
  • The 18-year old Mohammad Hasnain of Quetta Gladiators became the first local player to win the man of the match award in a PSL final. The former three players to win the awards were Luke Ronchi, Darren Sammy and Dwayne Smith.
  • Finally, in PSL 2019, Peshawar Zalmi became the first team to not concede a single six while bowling 20 overs. This had never happened in PSL’s four-year history.
