With 100 days to go for 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the mega event will now commence from 20th instead of 21st November and conclude on 18th December.

The starting date being shifted back by a day than originally scheduled was confirmed by FIFA – the governing body of football. Further, the FIFA announcement stated that the first match will kick off between the hosts Qatar vs Ecuador on Sunday, 20 November at 19:00 (Qatar Time).

Due to the one day change, the match between Senegal and Netherlands has been rescheduled from the afternoon to the evening of 21st November.

The decision taken by FIFA has also been supported and confirmed by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

From fans perspective it was mentioned that The impact of this decision has been was assessed by FIFA. Thereby, the concerned bodies will work together to ensure a smooth tournament for the fans and supporters affected by the change.
