Wimbledon Open 2018 Highlights: Day 3 – 2nd Half Singles

Allsportspk presents to you the qualifying matches of the second half of men’s and women’s singles of Wimbledon Open. The players that will win today’s match, will qualify for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

Men’s Singles

Match: Benjamin Bonzi vs James Ward

Summary: It was an eyecatching performance between the two players. The Frenchmen, Benjamin Bonzi won the first set by two points after a tough fight. However, James Ward gave a very bad performance in the next set which costed him the second set too.

Although, James was down to two sets but he mustered up courage and gave a humiliating defeat to Benjamin Bonzi in the third set by 1-6. In the fourth set, Benjamin Bonzi took revenge and won this set easily as he did not let James Ward to score a single point.

Result: Benjamin Bonzi defeated James Ward by 6-4, 6-2, 1-6, 6-0. Benjamin Bonzi has finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

 

Match: Bradley Klahn vs Simone Bolelli

Summary: The American player, Bradley Klahn dominated the Italian star, Simone Bolelli easily in the first set as Simone dropped some points on his serve. In the second set, Simone Bolelli struggled hard to win the set, but despite his hard work and good efforts, Bradley Klahn again won the set by two points in the end.

In the third set, a tough battle was witnessed between the two players, but in the end, Bradley Klahn claimed the victory and secured his place into the main draw.

Result: Bradley Klahn defeated Simone Bolelli by 6-3, 6-4, 7-6. Bradley Klahn has finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

 

Match: Norbert Gombos vs Dominik Koepfer

Summary: Both the players gave an absolute and exquisite performance in all the five sets. The German, Dominik Koepfer took a perfect start by claiming victory in the first set easily but Norbert Gombos came in action in the second set and won it by three points.

However, Norbert Gombos again faced a humiliating defeat in the third set by 2-6. Norbert got into pressure but he did not let his hope down and won the next two sets after a tough fight against the German. It was a bad luck for Dominik as he could have advanced to the main draw instead of Norbert.

Result: Norbert Gombos defeated Dominik Koepfer by 2-6, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5. Norbert Gombos has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.  

 

Match: Christian Garin vs Hubert Hurkacz

Summary: A humiliating defeat was faced by Hubert Hurkacz in the opening set of the match as he was only able to recover a total of two points. However, Hubert Hurkacz struggled hard to win the second set, but despite his hard work and good efforts, he lost it in the end by two points.

Now the third set started after some time which was a decisive one for Hubert. Hubert Hurkacz gave a very tough fight this time but unfortunately, he again lost and failed to secure his place into the main draw.

Result: Christian Garin defeated Hubert Hurkacz by 6-2, 6-2, 7-5. Christian Garin has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

 

Match: Yannick Maden vs Jurgen Melzer

Summary: A sensational performance was witnessed today between Yannick Maden and Jurgen Melzer. Although, the German player, Yannick Maden put up a good fight in the opening set, but still he failed to win it in the end. Bad luck continued for Yannick Maden as he again faced a terrible defeat in the next set.

Yannick Maden got into pressure but he amazed the crowd as he won the next set after a resilient fight. Jurgen Melzer again lost the fourth set although, he gave his best till the end. The sets were level now 2-2. In the fifth set, it was Yannick Maden who dominated Jurgen Melzer and secured his place into the main draw.

Result: Yannick Maden defeated Jurgen Melzer by 5-7, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-3. Yannick Maden has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

 

Match: Gregoire Barrere vs Stefano Napolitano

Summary: A sensational performance was witnessed by Gregoire Barrere who won all the three sets in a succession. Stefano Napolitano faced a humiliating defeat in the first set as he was only able to recover a single point. However, in the second set, both the players played at their peak but still Gregoire Barrere claimed the victory again in this set.

The match moved on to the third set and Stefano Napolitano again faced a terrific defeat in it, thus failed to make it into the main draw.

Result: Gregoire Barrere defeated Stefano Napolitano by 6-1, 7-6, 6-2. Gregoire Barrere has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

 

Match: Dennis Novak vs Matthias Bachinger

Summary: A stunning performance was seen by Dennis Novak as he won all the three sets. Matthias Bachinger lost the first set easily as he was only able to recover a total of two points. However, he struggled hard in the next set but unfortunately, Matthias Bachinger again dropped some points which costed him the second set.

Dennis Novak continued his winning ways as he again dominated Matthias Bachinger in the third set easily and secured his place into the Wimbledon Open main draw.

Result: Dennis Novak defeated Matthias Bachinger by 6-2, 6-4, 6-2. Dennis Novak has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

 

Match: Thomas Fabbiano vs Jason Jung

Summary: The Italian player, Thomas Fabbiano gave an absolute and outstanding performance today against Jason Jung. A promising fight was seen by Jason Jung in the first set but he lost some points on his serve which costed him the opening set. However, Thomas Fabbiano again gave a humiliating defeat to Jason in the next set as Jason Jung only managed to recover a total of two points.

Jason Jung replied to Thomas Fabbiano by sealing the victory in the next set by leading three points upfront. However, bad luck again struck Jason Jung as he faced defeat in the fourth set and failed to make it to the main draw.

Result: Thomas Fabbiano defeated Jason Jung by 6-4, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Thomas Fabbiano has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

 

Women’s Singles

Match: Eugenie Bouchard vs Mariana Duque-Marino

Summary: An exquisite performance was witnessed in the first set as the Canadian star, Eugenie Bouchard did not let Mariana Duque-Marino to score more than three points throughout the set.

However, the Colombian professional, Mariana Duque-Marino did not lose hope and played confidently in the next set, but despite her hard work and good efforts, she again faced a humiliating defeat in the end and failed to secure her place into the main draw.

Result: Eugenie Bouchard defeated Mariana Duque-Marino by 6-3, 6-2. Eugenie Bouchard has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.   

Match: Vitalia Diatchenko vs Sofya Zhuk

Summary: The 27-years old, Vitalia Diatchenko played confidently throughout the first set and dominated Sofya Zhuk easily, as she was only able to recover a total of two points. However, in the second set, Sofya Zhuk struggled hard to win this set but eventually, Vitalia Diatchenko claimed the victory in the second set again by four points upfront and qualified for the main draw.

Result: Vitalia Diatchenko defeated Sofya Zhuk by 6-2, 6-2. Vitalia Diatchenko has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.  

 

Match: Barbora Stefkova vs Conny Perrin

Summary: Conny Perrin fought well in the first set and finally sealed her win in it. However, in the second set, both the players gave a tough fight but unfortunately, Conny Perrin failed to win this time as she dropped the last two points in a quick succession. In the decisive set, Barbora Stefkova and Conny Perrin both played well but unfortunately, the Swiss star, Conny Perrin again faced defeat in this set and eventually failed to make it to the main draw.

Result: Barbora Stefkova defeated Conny Perrin by 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Barbora Stefkova has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

 

Match: Claire Liu vs Nicole Gibbs

Summary: Both the players gave an absolute and outclass performance throughout the match. Claire Liu won the first set after a tough fight as Nicole Gibbs failed to score the last two points on her serve. In the next set, despite taking the lead, Claire Liu again failed to score enough points to win the set and ultimately Nicole Gibbs secured her place into the main draw.

Result: Claire Liu defeated Nicole Gibbs by 6-4, 6-3. Claire Liu has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

Match: Antonia Lottner vs Bianca Andreescu

Summary: The Canadian player, Bianca Andreescu put up a very good fight against Mona Barthel in the first set, but eventually she lost it by two points in the end. Despite taking the lead in the second set, Bianca Andreescu faced a humiliating defeat as she was only able to recover a single point throughout the set. It was a great win for Antonia as she booked her place into the main draw of Wimbledon Open.

Result: Antonia Lottner defeated Bianca Andreescu by 7-5, 6-1. Antonia Lottner has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.

 

Match: Vera Zvonareva vs Caroline Dolehide

Summary: An exquisite performance was witnessed by Vera Zvonareva as she scored many points on aces. Caroline Dolehide faced a terrific defeat in the first set as she was not able to score points quickly than her opponent. In the second set, Caroline Dolehide managed to recover some points but again she faced defeat in this set, thus failed to secure her place into the main draw.

Result: Vera Zvonareva defeated Caroline Dolehide by 6-2, 6-3. Vera Zvonareva has now finally qualified for the main draw of Wimbledon Open 2018.
