UFC Khabib

Khabib Nurmagomedov is undoubtedly the biggest MMA star as the 2020 season kicks off this month. He is currently the sole UFC lightweight world champion and has remained undefeated in his last ten fights.

He recently sealed his position as the top MMA fighter at UFC 242 when he successfully defended his lightweight title by comfortably beating Dustin Poirier in October last year.

Now the Russian mixed martial artist has weighed in on the upcoming fight between Donald Cerrone and Conor McGregor and has stirred controversy by calling them both ‘minor league fighters’.

Khabib in a recent interview with RT sports trashed the two fighters and categorically rejected any possibility of a rematch between him and McGregor if he wins the Las Vegas fight scheduled for January 19.

“I think Cerrone lost the last seven or eight of his last ten fights. The other one is going into his fourth year of no victories. It’s like the minor leagues – it doesn’t matter who really wins there.” Khabib was quoted as saying.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s next bout will be against Tony Ferguson in New York where he will be seeking to defend his UFC lightweight championship for the second time.

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor responded to Nurmagomedov’s verbal assault in-kind claiming the latter was afraid of him and was trembling over potential match.
