Commonwealth Games 2018 – Table Tennis: 11-year Old Anna Hursey Wins

GOLD COAST: Anna Hursey, who is only 11-years old announced herself to the world after she won her first Table Tennis match in the Commonwealth Games today.

The youngest player to ever play table tennis for her country, Hursey stands at only 1.60 metres and is the only player of her age to represent Wales at a senior level.

She and her partner Charlotte Carey won the match against India’s Madhurika Patkar and Mouma Das after a hard fought battle.

Both Welsh players took the lead after being 2-0 ahead in the match. But, a good comeback by the Indians made the match more interesting as the scores were now level on 2-2.

However, the composure shown by the 11-year old and her partner helped them cross the line as they won a tough doubles win.
