Smith, Labuschagne Take Control On First Day

Stephen Smith and Marnus Labuschagne both hit half-centuries to project Australia to 257/4 on the first day of the boxing day test at Melbourne after the visitors managed to grab early wickets.

Smith was standing on an unbeaten 77* along with Mathew Wade (37*) to take control of the first innings when the play resumes tomorrow.

However, the Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson was hopeful of striking early wickets tomorrow to collapse the Australian batting line short of 300.

Curran’s Four Let English Finish On Top

South Africa were 277/9 when stumps were called at the end of first day’s play in the first test between two sides in Centurion in ICC Test Championship.

Quinton de Kock (95) was the only Proteas batsman to put up some resistance as English bowlers dominated the first day of play with Sam Curran leading with four wickets for 57 runs.

NBA: Clippers Beat Lakers

Los Angeles Clippers managed to erase 15-point deficit aided by Kawhi Leonard’s 35 points to secure a 111-106 victory against Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas day match.

Clippers were trailing by 3-point with only 3.6 seconds remaining when Patrick Beverley blocked LeBron James from scoring 3 points and Paul George made two throws to seal the victory.

Chelsea Vs Southampton

Southampton managed to pull off a surprise 2-0 victory as Chelsea were completely outclassed in their Boxing day fixture under English Premier League.

Michael Obafemi gave Southampton an early lead when he scored in 31st minute and then Nathan Redmond sealed the day with his 73rd minute off-side kick as League favorites failed to mount an effective defense.

Everton Vs Burnley FC

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the only scorer as Everton won their Boxing day fixture 1-0 against Burnley thanks to the 80th minute goal by their winger.
