The pre-match press conference of MMA fighters Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone has stirred up quite a controversy with a number of animal rights activists slamming the pair for their casual attitude towards animal cruelty.

Cerrone wore a suit made from python skin accompanied by his signature rattlesnake hat, a choice that got complimented by McGregor.

Both fighters discussed their favorite clothing items made from the skins of exotic animals such as crocodile shoes and python suits.

They also made fun of PETA – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an animal rights group joking about the previous troubles they had had with the non-profit organization.

However, PETA was quick to return the jibe and publicly called out both MMA stars calling them ‘Cowards’ and slamming the duo for not caring about animal suffering.

This was not PETA’s first run-in with MMA, last year they went after UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov when videos of him wrestling a bear went viral on social media.

McGregor and Cerrone are set to face off on Saturday, January 18 in UFC 246 at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.
