Rijas Development/Master Paints qualified for the subsidiary final of the Battle Axe Polo Cup 2021, after winning the match played under the American system among three teams at the Pakistan Park Cavalry ground.

In the first two-chukker match of the day played under the American system, Rijas Development/Master Paints registered an impressive 5-1 triumph over Platinum Homes. Mumtaz Abbas Niazi played the hero’s role in his team’s victory as he contributed with three tremendous goals while his teammate Farasat Ali Chatha also played quality polo and converted two beautiful goals. From team Platinum Homes, Qadeer Ashfaq scored the only goal.

Rijas Development/Master Paints then recorded a narrow 4-3 triumph against 4 Corps A to confirm their place in the subsidiary final. This time, Mannuel excelled from the winning side as he hammered a hat-trick of goals while Mumtaz Abbas Niazi converted one. From Team 4 Crops A, Omar Asjad Malhi also played well and banged in a brace while Raja Sami Ullah struck one but their efforts couldn’t bear fruit for their team.

In another two-chukker match played under the American system between 4 Corps A and Platinum Homes, the former played better polo and outpaced them with a close margin of 5-4. From Team 4 Corps A, Raja Sami Ullah emerged as top scorer with two tremendous goals while Haider Naseem, Omar Asjad Malhi and Lt Col Omer Minhas scored one goal apiece. From Team Platinum Homes, Amir Reza Behboudi played quality polo and converted fabulous four goals, but his efforts were futile in the end.
