PHOENIX: Things took a darkly comical turn at Phoenix arena as the crowd turned violent after Boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr quit mid-match against Daniel Jacobs.

Everything was going great at DAZN flagship event as both boxers engaged in a spectacular match and crowed cheered ecstatically as the night went on.

Then after the fifth round, Chavez Jr simply retired to his corner and refused to continue the game citing his injured hand and difficulty in breathing due to a broken nose.

The crowd went bananas and started hurling objects towards the ring as Chavez Jr made his way out. There were even reports of commotion and fights among opposing sides in the stands and in the parking lot of the arena.

Chavez Jr has had an otherwise illustrious professional boxing career with 51 wins in 57 fights (33Kos) and remained WBC middleweight champion during the 2011-2012 session. But he has been the subject of negative publicity due to his erratic and unprofessional attitude outside the ring.

This was just the latest bizarre move by Chavez Jr who had already been in bad light due to ignoring his dope test and missing the weight before the bout against Jacobs.

Fans and sports analysts alike berated the disgraced boxer for his utterly unprofessional behavior, tonight’s chaos was just one example of which.

Julion Chavez Sr, a boxing legend and multiple titles champion, expressed immense disappointment at his son’s dishonorable attitude and said that he had brought shame to a great game.
