Serena Williams qualified for semi final of the US Open 2020 by defeating Tsvetana Pironkova. She will contest the semi final against V Azarenka on 11th September.
World No. 4 Naomi Osaka and World No. 28 J Brady had already qualified for the semis and will contest against each other on 12th September. On the men’s side World No. 5 A Zverev will play semi final against World No. 20 P Carreno Busta on 12th September.
Williams lost the first set 4-6. However, Williams beat Pironkova during second and third sets 6-3, 6-2 to qualify for the Semi Finals.
