The major shock was in Men’s category, when Nafiizwan Adnan from Malaysia pulled off the biggest shock by beating the top seed Nick Matthew who is a double gold medallist – in 2014 and 2010 – and was expected to win the gold in Gold Coast for the 3rd time.

  1. I would love Sarah Vasey to win a medal at very least; Thoroughly under-appreciated up to this point. Her times have been slow this year, but I suspect she”ll come firing and take a lot of stopping in the 50 particularly. Pickett looked to have a lot of speed at Australian trials and loves commonwealths, and Bohl is a bit of an unknown. Think Smith might just get locked out But that 200 could really go to at least 5 different women. 50 GOLD: Leiston Pickett (Aus) SILVER: Sarah Vasey (Eng) BRONZE: Rachel Nicol (Can) 100 GOLD: Taylor McKeown (Aus) SILVER: Chloe Tutton (Wal) BRONZE: Sarah Vasey (Eng) 200 GOLD: Chloe Tutton (Wal) SILVER: Taylor McKeown (Aus) BRONZE: Jocelyn Ulyett (Eng)
