The 14th edition of Faldo Series Asia Grand Final Golf Championship concluded at the Laguna Golf Lang Co Golf Course in the Phu Loc District of Thu Thien Hue Province of Viet Nam.
The host countries teenage golfer Nguyen Minh who maintained his play superiority through out the three rounds; finally emerged as the 2023 winner.

14th Faldo Series Asia Grand Final Golf Championship – Day 2
The 14th edition of Faldo Series Asia Grand Final Golf Championship enters the final phase after completion of two rounds at the Nick Faldo designed Laguna Golf Lang Co Golf Course in the Phu Loc District of Thu Thien Hue Province of Viet Nam.
Playing conditions at this Nick Faldo designed golf course were testing indeed, yet Syed Yashal Shah of Pakistan remained in the spotlight for the second day running. Up against the might of an established player like Nguyen Minh of the home country, Viet Nam, this young champion from Pakistan kept the Pakistan Flag elevated and towering with another marvelous round of gross 69. Added to his first rounds sublime and wonderful gross 69 of the first day gives him a two rounds aggregate of 138, four under par and he is once again placed one stroke behind the leader Nguyen Minh of Viet Nam.
After a two rounds effort of gross 68 on the first day and gross 69 on the second day, Nguyen is placed at a two rounds score of 137, five under par. The battle for Asian Championship supremacy is on and Fridays final round will decide the outcome.
Other players in line for honours are Isaac Lam from Hong Kong at a score of 140 and three contestants are bunched together at a two rounds gross score of 143. They are Le Khanh of Viet Nam, Jui Shen Lee of Taiwan and Alethea Gaccion of Phillipines. At a score of 144 is placed Yu Tien of Taiwan. Nouman Ilyas improved on his first round performance with a second round score of par 72 and is now placed at 148, aggregate. Also seen was a visible improvement in the performance of Omar Khalid. As against his first rounds 76, he came up with a round of gross 73 and now has an aggregate score of 149. Saad Habib is at 149.
Hamna Amjad of Pakistan excelled in the Ladies Section and is placed at a gross aggregate score of 154 with the help of an outstanding round of gross 72 on the second day. And now Hamna and Parkha Ijaz share the top position in Ladies category. They are placed at a score of 154 while Aania Farooq is at 155.
The final round will be played on Friday in this 14th edition of Nick Faldo Series Asia Grand Final.
14th Faldo Series Asia C’ship 2023: Round 1 | Vietnam’s Nguyen Leads; Pakistan’s Yashal Follows
The 14th edition of Faldo Series Asia Grand Final Golf Championship went into action at the Nick Faldo designed Laguna Golf Lang Co Golf Course in the Phu Loc District of Thu Thien Hue Province of Viet Nam. In extremely humid and hot weather the junior champions of Asia were sturdy and pliable in their performances and the top performers produced classy golf that impressed the Organizing Team and the pundits .
Most outstanding one in the course of the first round was Nguyen Minh of the host country, Viet Nam and equally remarkable was Syed Yashal Shah of Pakistan. While Nguyen is the leader with a score of gross 68, three under par, placed one stroke behind him is Syed Yashal Shah of Pakistan. Yashal Shah played the opening holes in style and his hitting off the tees on all par fours and par fives was extraordinary in terms of power and accuracy. And added to that he was simply wonderful on the greens, handling his putter like a champion.
Other players in line are Le Khanh of Viet Nam at gross 70 and also at gross 70 is Isaac Lan, Hong Kong. At 71 is Jui Lee of Taiwan followed by Alethea of Phillipines at 72.
Other Pakistani hopefuls are Saad Habib, Omar Khalid and Nouman Ilyas, all bunched together at gross 76. They had steady rounds and seek to excel in the remaining two rounds.
In Ladies section, Parkha Ijaz of Pakistan excelled in the Ladies Section and is placed at a gross score of 75.
