Naveed Sheikh and James Fewster steered Imperial Hydroponics to a convincing 8-5 triumph over team AOS in the Hamadan Polo Cup for Lahore Open Polo Championship match played at the Lahore Polo Club ground.

Both Naveed Sheikh and James Fewster were in sublime form and played out impressive polo and also contributed with a hat-trick each while Mumtaz Abbas Niazi also made his presence felt with a contribution of a brace. Hugo Antonio though managed to convert a classic quartet and Ahmed Zubair Butt one goal yet their efforts proved futile in the end as their side lost the match by 5-8. The match went neck-and-neck till the third chukker, where both the teams were tied at 5-all as the score was 2-all after the first chukker, 4-all after the second chukker and 5-all. After that Imperial Hydroponics showed their class and totally prevailed over AOS as they thrashed three back-to-back goals in the fourth and last chukker to win the encounter by 8-5.

Amirreza Behboudi and Kian Hall officiated the match as field umpires.

On Friday, 18th December two semifinals will be played as in the first semifinal, Barry’s will take on Pricemeter.pk/Kalabagh Polo at 2:00 pm while Master Paints will vie against Diamond Paints/FG Polo in the second semifinal at 3:00 pm.
