The AGM – Annual General Meeting of DDCA – Delhi and District Cricket Association was supposed to be a calm affair where members of the second most important cricket association in India were supposed to vote for the next cadre of officials but it turned out to be anything but a Boxing ring.

As the voting process moved forward and different resolutions were presented and were approved or rejected, the members from opposing groups began to trade verbal barbs that pretty soon turned into a full-blown fistfight.

The short clip of the fight shows the ruling group’s joint secretary Rajan Manchanda being slapped by opposition’s Maqsood Alam during the commotion and then being responded in kind.

Even former cricketer Gautam Gambhir took notice of the fight and urged the Board officials to investigate the matter and penalize those involved.

Despite the violent clashes between members, the annual meeting did manage to name Justice Deepak Verma as Ombudsman. It was also announced that the elections for association’s president will be held on 13th January.
