Pan Am (Squash) Championships: Sobhy Day With 3 Golds

CAYMAN ISLAND: It was USA’s Amanda Sobhy day, winning three gold medals at the Pan American Squash Championships in the South Sound Squash Club, Cayman Islands.

The World No.18 from New York started her medals tally by first defeating her sister Sabrina Sobhy for the women’s singles title as expected.

The second gold was of women’s doubles, when with with her doubles partner Sabrina they were victorious over the Mexicans duo – Laura Tovar & Maria Tovar Perez.

The third gold was in the women teams finals, when Sabrina won the opening match against Canada for the team to be ahead and ultimately for the USA team to win 2 – 0.
In the men’s singles event, Diego Elias made history by being the first Peruvian gold medallist by beating Christopher Binnie in the final.

In the men’s doubles match, Mexico won the first of two gold medals. The men’s team final was also a Mexico affair with Colombia being beaten 2 – 0.
