The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 has been postponed indefinitely by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) due to supposedly disagreements with the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) over hosting the remaining matches. This decision was made on the advice of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The tournament, which started on April 11, was scheduled to conclude on May 18, but now has no return date.

Current Standings

– Quetta Gladiators are leading the PSL 2025 table with 13 points from nine games.
– Multan Sultans, however, are struggling at the bottom with just two points from nine fixtures.

About PSL
The Pakistan Super League is a franchise-based Twenty20 cricket league established by the PCB in 2015. The league features six teams competing in a double round-robin and page playoff system. The PSL has grown in popularity over the years, attracting top international players and showcasing Pakistani talent.

PSL Expansion
The PCB has announced plans to expand the PSL from six to eight teams starting from the 2026 season. This move is expected to increase the league’s competitiveness and attract more players and fans. The board is also considering shifting the PSL to an April-May window, which would directly overlap with the Indian Premier League (IPL)

Impact of Postponement
The postponement of PSL 2025 is likely to have significant implications for the teams, players, and broadcasters involved. The league’s scheduling conflict with the IPL has already posed challenges, and the indefinite postponement may further complicate matters.
