Henry Cejudo on Friday confirmed his decision to relinquish his UFC flyweight title disputing the earlier reports that he was being stripped of the title by UFC.

Cejudo will keep the bantamweight champion belt that he won by defeating Marlon Moraes in June this year.

UFC officials confirmed Cejudo’s move and announced that next in line MMA fighters Joseph Benavidez and Deiveson Figueiredo will be fighting for the vacant title.

UFC president Dana White appreciated the American MMA fighter for allowing other fighters a chance to claim the flyweight title and denied that the promotion had any ‘monetary beef’ with the fighter.
