A straight set win for a Canadian teenager Bianca Andreescu over the reigning tennis Women supremo – Serena Williams, made her win the US Open 2019 in convincing manner. This was the first time Bianca played a Grand Slam final, the first time after four attempts she had crossed the second round stage, and became the first Canadian to win a major tennis title. The epic win having lasted for 1 hour and 40 minutes was won in a dominant fashion with a straight set score of 6-3, 7-5.

The final reminded of Serena Williams, when in 1999 she won the first of her 23 grand slam titles.

The veteran tennis legend was critical of her own performance. She summed it up by saying, “I honestly don’t think Serena showed up and I have to figure out how to get her to show up.”
