Wimbledon 2018 Highlights: Day 3; Round of 64 – 2nd Half Doubles

Men’s Doubles

Match: Andres Molteni and Roman Jebavy vs Matteo Berrettini and Maximilian Marterer

Summary: Andres Molteni and Roman Jebavy took a perfect start as they dominated Matteo Berrettini and Maximilian Marterer after a resilient fight in the first set by a margin of two points. However, a tough fight was again witnessed in the next set by Matteo Berrettini and Maximilian Marterer as the score reached 4-4. But in the end, again Andres Molteni and Roman Jebavy won the set after scoring the last two points in a quick succession.

In the third set, Andres Molteni and Roman Jebavy were playing confidently at the start but after some time, Matteo Berrettini and Maximilian Marterer started scoring quickly and after some time they won the third set. However, in the fourth set, Andres Molteni and Roman Jebavy won by three points as Matteo Berrettini and Maximilian Marterer dropped some points on their serve.

Match: Dusan Lajovic and Mirza Basic vs Purav Raja and Fabrice Martin

Summary: Dusan Lajovic and Mirza Basic gave a humiliating defeat to Purav Raja and Fabrice Martin in the first set as they were only able to score a total of two points in the first set. However, a tough fight was witnessed by Purav Raja and Fabrice Martin in the second set but, again Dusan Lajovic and Mirza Basic claimed the victory in the end after scoring the last two points in a quick succession.

In the third set, both the pairs played brilliantly as the set eventually came to a tie-break. But this time, Purav Raja and Fabrice Martin won the set on the tie-break and the match moved on to the fourth set. A resilient battle was again seen between the pairs and again Purav Raja and Fabrice Martin were successful in winning this time. However, Dusan Lajovic and Mirza Basic won the decisive set and finally made it into the round of 32.

Result: Dusan Lajovic and Mirza Basic defeated Purav Raja and Fabrice Martin in Wimbledon 2018 by 6-2, 6-4, 6-7(5), 4-6, 11-9.

 

Match: Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers vs Yasutaka Uchiyama and Andre Begemann

Summary: Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers gave a terrible defeat to Yasutaka Uchiyama and Andre Begemann in the first set as they both were able to recover a total of two points. However, a tough fight was seen in the second set as Yasutaka Uchiyama and Andre Begemann were scoring the points quickly this time. However, in the end, Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers again won the set as they managed to score the last two points in a quick succession.

In the third set, Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers faced a terrific defeat as they dropped many points on their serve. The match came to the decisive set. A tough battle was seen in the decisive set as it ultimately came to a tie-breaker. In the end, Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers sealed the victory on the tie-break and made it to the round of 32 of Wimbledon 2018.

Result: Pablo Cuevas and Marcel Granollers defeated Yasutaka Uchiyama and Andre Begemann in Wimbledon 2018 by 6-2, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(7).

Women’s Doubles

Match: Han Xinyan and Luksika Kumkhum vs Maria Sakkari and Donna Vekic

Summary: Han Xinyan and Luksika Kumkhum gave a humiliating and terrible defeat to Maria Sakkari and Donna Vekic in the first set as Maria and Donna both failed to score a single point throughout the set. However, in the next set Han Xinyan and Luksika Kumkhum were again scoring at a very fast pace and after some time, they again gave a terrific defeat to Maria Sakkari and Donna Vekic by 6-0 and booked their place into the round of 32.

Result: Han Xinyan and Luksika Kumkhum defeated Maria Sakkari and Donna Vekic at Wimbledon 2018 by 6-0, 6-0.

Match: Nadiia Kichenok and Anastasia Rodionova vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Samantha Stosur

Summary: Nadiia Kichenok and Anastasia Rodionova took a great start as they were constantly scoring points in the first set. While, on the other hand, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Samantha Stosur were scoring at a very slow pace. In the end, Nadiia Kichenok and Anastasia Rodionova easily won the first set by a margin of four points and the match moved on to the second set.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Samantha Stosur struggled hard in the second set but eventually they failed to win it in the end as Nadiia Kichenok and Anastasia Rodionova scored the last two points in a quick succession.

Result: Nadiia Kichenok and Anastasia Rodionova defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Samantha Stosur at Wimbledon 2018 by 6-2, 6-4.

 

Match: Kaitlyn Christian and Ana Bogdan vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Duan Yingying

Summary: Kaitlyn Christian and Ana Bogdan and Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Duan Yingying both pairs gave a tough fight to each other in the first set. But in the end, Kaitlyn Christian and Ana Bogdan finally won it as they scored the last three points in a quick succession.

However, Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Duan Yingying again gave a resilient fight to Kaitlyn Christian and Ana Bogdanin the second set, but, it was again Kaitlyn Christian and Ana Bogdan who managed to score the last two points first and booked their place into the next round.

Result: Kaitlyn Christian and Ana Bogdan defeated Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Duan Yingying at Wimbledon 2018 by 6-3, 6-4.
