The two annual events of World Squash Federation will be played in the city of Tauranga, New Zealand as per the following schedule:

Men’s World Junior Championship 2017 from 19-24 July

Women’s World Junior Team Championship from 25-29 July

Youssef Ibrahim and Hania El Hammamy both from Egypt are top seeds in the men’s and women’s events, respectively – and both reached the semi-finals of the 2016 championships in Poland. Ibrahim, an 18-year-old left-hander from Cairo, is ranked 119 in the world. He is predicted to face second seed Mohammad Al Sarraj from Jordon in the final.

Hania El Hammamy, only 16 years old, is the existing British Junior U19 Open champion. The world No.36 is predicted to play the final against countrywoman Zeina Mickawy, the 18-year-old who was the runner-up to El Hammamy in the British Junior Open final in January 2017.
