OJ Simpson-Orenthal James Simpson, the former NFL star and later an actor died of cancer at the age of 76.

Born in San Francisco, California on 9th July, 1947. Simpson nicknamed – The Juice, was among the best athletes of the late 1960s and 1970s era’s. Since University days he was a stardom brand and became a sensational running back member of the University of Southern California team. Later he had an extraordinary record career in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers, which ended with being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

After he retired from the NFL in 1979, he became a Hollywood celebrity.

In 1995 he was entangled in the 12th June, 1994 stabbing deaths in Los Angeles of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. Simpson became the key suspect based on ‘jealousy’ factor, which he denied and declared himself as not guilty. The case which came to be known as – trial of the 20th century concluded on 3rd October with acquittal verdict being announced by the jurors.

In 2008, Simpson was sentenced served for nine years in a Nevada prison after being convicted for armed robbery and kidnapping of two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel. He was released in 2017 and discharged from parole in December 2021.

His children announced the news of his death on X, stating:

On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.
He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.
