ISLAMABAD: By defeating Muhammad Mudassir Sheikh of Punjab (Lahore) by 5-2 in the final of Jubilee Insurance 3rd National Junior U-18 Snooker Championship, 14 years old Muhammad Umer Khan of Punjab (Lahore) became the new Under 18 National Junior Snooker Champion.

32 players from Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balouchistan and Islamabad participated in the six-day Championship held on league basis at PSB Billiards & Snooker Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.

Muhammad Umer Khan after loosing first frame by 41-62, managed to come back in the second frame and won this frame by 65-42. He kept the pressure on and took the lead by winning third frame by 64-22. Muhammad Mudassir Sheikh by displaying some good shots won the fourth frame by 54-42 making the score 2-2.

After taking break, the young player from Lahore never looked back and sealed the fate of Muhammad Mudassir Sheikh by winning the next three frames in a row 54-16, 77-28 and 65-16.

Muhammad Kashif & Muhammad Wajid of KPK supervised the final match.

Meanwhile, Jubilee Insurance 10th National Junior U-21 Snooker Championship will commence from Saturday, 13th January at the same venue. 32 players from the four provinces Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balouchistan and Islamabad.

The players’ meeting and draws of U-21 Championship will be held at PSB Billiards & Snooker Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.
