Chi Wing Celebrating After Winning The Men’s Singles Title

The 21-year-old Chi Wing crushed Misbun Ramdan Misbun of Selangor 21-19, 21-8 in a lopsided men’s singles final at the Sri Perdana Hall in Ulu Kinta in just 31 minutes.

The 21-year-old Chi Wing said that he was happy to defend the title. Hecame prepared and had expected a tough fight, but it was much easier.

In the men’s doubles, Ong Yew Sin-Tan Wee Kiong fought hard to notch a 22-20, 21-18 win over Tan Chee Tean-Tan Wee Gieen in just 37 minutes. They won RM30,000 for the feat.

She upstaged a jaded Lim Yun Fun 23-21, 21-8 in just 36 minutes to pocket RM14,000 for her stunning win.

Mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie continued their fine run when they bagged their first national title in style.

The national No. 3 pair defeated Chan Peng Soon-Chow Mei Kuan 21-19, 16-21, 21-15 in an exciting 65-minute match.

The duo, who did well to reach the Malaysian Masters final in Sibu last month, pocketed RM20,000 for their feat on Saturday.

Top seeds Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei lived up to their top billing after beating Chow Mei Kuan-Lee Meng Yean 20-22, 21-11, 21-8 in the women’s doubles final.
