8th South Asian Judo C’ship: Pakistan Judokas shine; win 2 Golds – 2 Silvers

NEPAL: On first day of the 8th South Asian Senior Judo Championship Pakistan Judo team won 2 Gold and 2 Silver medals.

Gold Medals: Shah Hussain Shah and Qaisar Khan
Silver Medals: Maryam and Humaira Ashiq .

Shah Hussain Shah won the Gold medal in 100 kg weight category by defeating India in the primarily round; Nepal in semi-final and Sri Lanka in the final.

Qaisar Khan won the Gold medal in 90 kg by defeating India in primarily round; Sri Lanka in the semi-final and Nepal in final.

Maryan in 52 kg won the silver medal by defeating Bangladesh in first round; Nepal in semi-final and India in the final.

Humaira Ashiq beat Sri Lanka in 1st round; Bangladesh in 2nd round, Nepal in semi-final and was beaten by India in the final.

In 66 kg – Babar Hussain
In 73 kg – Nadeem Akram
In 81 kg – Muhammad Abbas
In 78 kg – Beenish khan

 

8th South Asian Judo Championship began in Lalitpur near Kathmandu, Nepal. The nations participating and competing are:

  • Sri Lanka

There are 102 players participating for 7 gold, 7 silver and 14 bronze medals.
