  • This was the 1st time that England and Panama faced each other in a World Cup match. England were the favorites to win this match as Panama were a relatively weaker side.
  • In the 1st half, John Stones gave England an early lead to make it 1 – 0.

  • Following that, England’s captain equalized the scoreboard with a penalty to make it 2 – 0.

  • England weren’t done yet as Jesse Lingard joined the goal scoring list as he curled a stunner in the nets to make it 3 – 0.

  • 4 minutes later, John Stones scored yet another goal to make it 4-0.
  • The 1st was now coming to an end and this is when another penalty was awarded to England. Harry Kane took the shot and also scored his 2nd goal of the match.

  • The 1st half ended and Panama had some serious planning to do. After the break, the 2nd half went underway as Panama looked to score a goal.
  • But, 17 minutes into the 2nd half Harry Kane scored the 2nd hattrick of this World Cup 2018 to make it 6 – 0.

WC ’18 – Match 31: Japan Vs Senegal

Result: 2 – 2

Goal Scorers:

  • Japan: Takashi Inui 34′, Keisuke Honda 78′
  • Senegal: Sadio Mane 11′, Moussa Wague 71′

Highlights:

  • Senegal maintained their unbeaten record against Japan as despite today’s match being a goal fest, it ended in a draw.
  • The opening goal was scored by Senegal’s Sadio Mane who netted the ball to put his team in the lead. This was also his 1st goal of this World Cup 2018.

  • On the other hand, Japan didn’t take much time to score and it was Takashi Inui’s brilliant touch that equalized the scoreboard for Japan.

  • The 1st half ended with the score being 1-1. After the break, the 2nd half started with both teams looking to score the tie-breaker.
  • Japan resisted for a while, but Senegal’s teenager Moussa Wague scored at the 71st minute to restore his team’s lead.

  • After this goal, Kesuke Honda was substituted in for Shinji Kagawa. And, 6 minutes later Japan’s leading striker scored to make it 2 – 2.

Highlights:

  • This was the first time that Poland and Colombia faced each other in a World Cup match.
  • In the 1st half, Colombia brilliance with their passes was quite excellent and this allowed them to dominate possession in the 1st half.
  • Due to more possession, Yerry Mina put Colombia in the lead by scoring just 5 minutes before the end of the 1st half.

  • Poland couldn’t equalize and the 1st ended with Colombia in the lead.
  • In the 2nd half, Colombia doubled their lead as Radamel Falcao scored at the 70th minute.

  • And, after 5 minutes the lead was tripled by Juan Cuadrado to make it 3 – 0.

  • Poland couldn’t score a single goal as Colombia won the match.
