Miguel Rodriguez became the first South American Squash player who won the PSA World Tournament after he defeated El Shorbagy in the final and managed to get his hands on the British Open title 2018.

On that day, everybody also witnessed the women’s final played between Raneem El Welily and Nour El Sherbini. Nour won the final and claimed her 2nd title of British Open.

The match between Rodriguez and El Shorbagy was a dramatic one, as everybody saw both the players struggling to achieve victory over each other but the Colombian put up a good fight against his opponent and won the British Open 2018.

World No.1 El Shorbagy, who was two times British Open winner, battled against a great opponent in the final but unfortunately lost to Rodriguez.

It was a 102 minute clash between the two pro’s but who knew the World No. 14 would win by 11-9, 11-2, 8-11, 6-11, 11-7 score.

It was a sensational match and dazzling performance from both players. Miguel after winning the biggest PSA tournament of his life said after the match that he believed that everything was intellectual and he achieved what he dreamt of.

The Colombian also said that he thought he is a legend. He also said that it was unbelievable for him to battle against a top-class player but to win the British Open at just the age of 32, it’s an amazing feeling.

On the other hand, Nour El Sherbini won the British Open in Women’s Squash after she defeated World No. 2 Raneem El Welily in a tight competition.

Both the players were meeting a fifth time in this season, but Nour put up a very good fight against Raneem and won the final. The scoreline was 11-6, 11-9, 14-12 and the match ended in just 47 minutes.

Nour after winning her 16th PSA title said that it was a great honour and a big achievement for her to win the British Open. She also said that it wasn’t an easy final for her and was glad that it finished 3-0.

He also said that Raneem is a role model to everyone and they are best friends. She said that every time I play against her, it gets tougher.

Both Miguel Angel Rodriguez and Nour El Sherbini won 24000 dollars offered by the tournament for a second time in the series.
