The hosting rights for two major European football finals has been awarded to Türkiye. This was announced by UEFA Executive Committee after a meeting in Dublin, Ireland on 22nd May.

Servet Yardımcı member of UEFA Executive Committee informed that two finals to be hosted in Istanbul are the 2026 UEFA Europa League final and the 2027 UEFA European Conference League.

The 2026 UEFA Europa League final will be played at Beşiktaş Park-Tüpraş Stadium, with the 2027 UEFA European Conference League final to be held probably in the new Ankara Stadium, which is presently under construction. In case the stadium is not completed, Beşiktaş Park will host both the finals.

Germany, Romania and Scotland had also bide for the 2026 Europa League final, and Germany, Israel, Norway and Scotland were interested to host the 2027 European Conference League final.

Turkiye Football Federation’s President, Mehmet Büyükekşi was proud of Türkiye’s achievements and the country’s growing importance in European football.
