Corey Conners clinched the 2023 Valero Texas title for second time. Patrick Rodgers was not able to build on his third round lead.
Corey’s final round score was 4 under 68. He withstood a superb charge by Sam Stevens who played a round of 66, to lift the trophy with a final score of 15 under 273. Stevens lost a chance to force a play-off when he missed birdie at 602 yards par – 5, 18th hole.
In his turn, Conners also missed birdie putt but managed par to edge out Stevens by one stroke. This was his second win on PGA Tour as he won the same event in 2019. Tour veteran Matt Kuchar and Ryder were joint thirds with 13 under in the $8.9 Million event.

Round 3 | Rodgers Maintains Lead In $8.9M Event
Compared with previous two rounds, Patrick Rodgers put up a modest show of one under par but still maintained lead on completion of third Round. Rodgers had played 66 and 67 on first two days, and goes into the final round with 12 under. Third day tested the resolve of the players at Valero Texas Open at San Antonio par 72 Oak Course, already having spillover from the first two days delayed start. Patrick Rodgers is well in front with 11 under. 2019 Valero Texas Open champion Corey Conners is one shot behind at 11 under. A round of 3 under saw him maintaining solo second position on the leader board. Tour veteran Matt Kuchar could still be a spoiler on final day, standing on 9 under par.
A number of players are maintaining 7, 8 under par in the $8.9 Million event, the winner of which will earn an entry into US Masters in April. Let’s see how weather plays on the last day.
