Men’s Handball tournaments across various regions of the world have reached their final stages to determine the continental winners who will qualify for the upcoming international Championship as well as Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Africa

Egypt maintained their tournament-long winning streak in the semi-final of African Handball Championship with a thrilling 30-27 victory over Algeria.

The six-time champion Egypt will take on defending champion and host Tunisia in the final tomorrow at Salle Omnisport de Radès to determine the African Champion of Men’s Handball.

South And Central America

Across the Atlantic Ocean, Argentina downed Chile to qualify for the final of South and Central American Men’s Handball Championship where they will be facing the host Brazil for the title.

Argentina overcame Chile 30-22 and Brazil defeated Uruguay 31-14 in their respective semi-finals on Saturday to secure a spot in the final face-off scheduled for Sunday (Tomorrow).


Europe

Meanwhile in Europe, Spain braced a ferocious comeback attempt by Slovenia to reach the final with a 34-32 victory at Tele2 Arena in Sweden’s capital Stockholm.

The defending champion Spain will be facing Croatia in the final contest who had earlier beaten Norway in the extra time after both sides stood at 23-23 as the final buzzer rang.



Winner and runner-up teams of these continental championships will automatically qualify for the Tokyo 2020 set to begin from July 25.

Whereas, the Top four teams from each side will qualify for the 2021 World Men’s Handball Championship in Egypt while the rest will be forced to participate in the qualifiers.
