Kampala:The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Cross Country Championships will be held in Kampala,Uganda on 26th March 2017.
Since its first running in 1973 , when it replaced the International Cross Country Championships that had been contested since 1903 , this competition, like every other distance event in the sport, has become the domain of East African runners, predominantly from Kenya and Ethiopia.
A total of US$310,000 in prize money will be awarded by the IAAF to the leading runners in the senior races.
Winners of the individual men’s and women’s races will each earn US$30,000, with money paid out to the top six finishers.
