Highlights:

  • The two strongest teams of IPL 2018 namely Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab faced each other today.
  • KXIP won the toss and chose to field first. Sunrisers Hyderabad shuffled their batting line-up and this was not a great move as they lost early wickets in their innings.
  • Kings XI bowlers especially Ankit Rajpoot was quite exceptional as he claimed 5 wickets after only conceding 14 runs.
  • Overall, KXIP struck at crucial times throughout the match to deny Sunrisers from posting a big total.
  • For Sunrisers, it was Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan who gave their team a lift at the end to post 132 runs on the board.
  • KXIP now needed 133 runs to win from 20 overs; A target which which seemed pretty average against their batting line-up.
  • However, Sunrisers captain knew that he has the best bowlers in this IPL season and so so he made full use of them.
  • Although, Gayle and KL Rahul gave their team a solid start but after they got out no batsman could hold his ground.
  • The KXIP batsmen had no answer to Hyderabad’s bowlers as they fell down like nine pins.
  • Hyderabad’s bowling attack was led by Rashid Khan who took 3 wickets to turn the tables on KXIP.
  • Meanwhile, S Kaul, Thampi and Shakib also bowled pretty well to bowl out KXIP for 119 runs.
