Highlights:
- Mumbai Indians had won the IPL 2017 but the defending champions were still looking for their second win in their 7th match this season. However, they faced a strong CSK side that weren’t going to let them win easily.
- So, MI won the toss and chose to field first. CSK got off to a good start however timely wickets by Mumbai did not allow CSK batsmen to go berserk on Mumbai.
- Rayudu and Raina contributed valuable runs off the bat with the latter batsmen remaining not out in the most part of his innings.
- Despite, CSK losing only 5 wickets in the first innings they could only manage to score 169 runs.
- Mumbai now needed 170 runs to win this match and stay alive in this tournament.
- Although, it was a below par total however, CSK bowlers were fully capable of defending it. But Mumbai knew the risks if they lost this match.
- So, their batsmen batted quite sensibly as Mumbai’s captain Rohit Sharma steered his team towards their second win in this tournament.
